Odd Vistor

How was your weekend?  We pretty much stayed home.  Just a couple of walks...wait...yesterday we didn't leave the site! Obviously I make it outside everyday to check on my plants.   I do try to mail out cards everyday but for some reason never on Sunday.  Of course I could take them down to the office on Sunday.  Must give that some serious thought

Sunday was a very lazy day for me.  It was almost noon when I got dressed.  I did fix my breakfast and then later fixed some eggs for Jim.  But the rest of the morning I just sat...

Then life kicked in and I got dressed, made the bed and started laundry.  Jim did the breakfast dishes.  Part of the reason I just sat is because I keep getting up way to early.  I can't sleep.  I think it was Saturday when I got up at 0330!  I did go back to bed around 0630 and got up when Jim's alarm went off at 0800.  Most of the time when I get up early I take the time to make cards.  I've been making a lot of cards

We had this turkey wandering around the north end of the RV park.  Apparently it lives next door and it escaped.  I was a wee bit concerned as to why he was coming straight towards me!  Someone said it was a pet, others said 'until he's dinner'...

My goal again this year is to make 500 cards.

In my feeble attempt to organize some stacks of supplies I discovered some unfinished cards.  So I busied myself with getting them completed.    The supplies are mostly Stampin' Up!  But I like to work with other companies paper and stamps.  These are mix and match!

Colorful Cards!

Here I am again... not much to report in our lives.  For two days it's been rainy and downright yucky.  Neither one of left the house yesterday.  We eat, sleep, jump on the computers, tablets etc.  We read and watch TV.  Speaking of TV  we have been enjoying Agatha Raisin on Acorn TV.  Cute who done it from British TV.  We also watched the Rise of Skywalker (?), a Star Wars movie.

For our midday meal today we had that leftover spaghetti from Olive Garden, thus ends the pre-made meals.  Now I have to menu plan and cook.  We had some brocolini with it.  I've started getting a veggie box again, this time from Farmbox Direct.  Every two weeks and I opted for organic.  I have a referral code so if you're interested send me an email.

My goal again this year is to make 500 cards.

All of these cards were made with the June 2020 Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin kit.  The kit made 8 cards, two of each and with the leftover bits and pieces I made 8 more using my card bases and envelopes...I love the colors!

The top two pictures are the eight I made from the bits and pieces.  In my stash I had gold rimmed card bases so it worked out perfectly.

These 8 are the kit cards, the envelopes came with the gold foiling

Hello! It's me again

Coming to you from Spring Branch Texas on this lovely evening.  Friday is a busy day for me. Laundry, meals and dishes oh my!  At least the meals have been easy.  For Father's Day Jim received a restaurant gift card from Sonsearae and Chris...So Jim took me to Olive Garden.  We both had leftovers from our meal and they had that special going on where you can take home an entree for $5.  So we did.  Jim had Fettuccine today while I had some beans and rice.  We still have some spaghetti with marinara sauce for tomorrow.

Not sure I mentioned it, but I was supposed to see my doctor last week.  Just the regular three month visit.  In March, because of this Covid 19 we talked on the phone.  If you know me I didn't care much for that.  They wanted to do it again this time and I said no.  I want to be seen as I have this issue with my arm.  I feel an exam is called for.  Any way it's been rescheduled for the end of July.  I expect the same thing will happen and it will be put off again.  No word on when, if ever, I'll have my gallbladder removed.

My weight has finally leveled off around 107-108 pounds.  I'm still eating small meals with snacks. I eat mostly pasta because it doesn't seem to upset my stomach.  I have been trying to add different things to my diet keeping it low fat.  No passing of stones so I guess I'm doing something right!

My goal again this year is to make 500 cards.

Pink, Love it or hate it?

Middle of June and it's hot...the AC runs from mid morning until after the sun goes down.  We are safe indoors...from the elements and covid 19.  The days run into each other and we constantly ask each other, "what day is it?"  Right now I'm sitting at the table and I'm able to see the bird feeders.  Couple of finches and a hummingbird.  It's to hot for the birds.

We watch very little tv during the day...mostly we sit with our tablets after breakfast.  I usually mail one or two cards a day so that get's me out of the house.  Most times Jim will walk with me.  Normal chores keep me busy most mornings.  Jim does this and that, but mostly plays games and reads.  He got Kindle Unlimited and he's enjoying it!

Last night as I was drifting off to sleep I heard a stealthy critter on the roof.  I suppose it was a squirell but who knows!?  Usually they scamper back and forth quickly.  This little leopard frog has been sleeping in my pot...I water them in the evening so it's damp and cool.

My goal again this year is to make 500 cards.

Using up some Echo Park papers and ephemera.  So, do you like the color pink?  I must say it isn't in my top ten of colors.  It does make for some nice cards.  I used a template from Jessica Taylor and by the time I made the last card I was tired of the color pink!

This and That, cards

We've had some awesome mornings here the past few days.  Overnight we dropped into the 50's and there was no humidity.  We both were able to work outside doing little chores and it was wonderful.  Jim washed the truck and I pottered around my plants.  Bought a cilantro and flat leaf parsley at Home Depot and potted them up.  The seeds I planted in two pots didn't germinate so I tossed the soil.

We have been out and about!  Sure has been nice.  But we've been eating out a lot and we need to stop that.  Yesterday we needed to get a few items at the grocery store.  First we went to Richter's for the Friday special, even with beer we only spent 20 bucks.

While there Jim asked if I wanted to drive to San Marcos and go to the outlet mall.  He needs shoes and of course I said yes!  About an hour and a half round trip.  New Balance has the shoes we prefer.  Besides the normal markdown at an outlet store they were having a 40% off sale.  So Jim was able to get two pair for $100.  Then for kicks we went to William Sonoma.  It was located inside Pottery Barn.  Huge space and I'm happy to say we didn't buy anything.  Though I could have gotten a cookwear set for a very good price!  No space to store it :(

One more stop at Starbucks (it was right next door to William Sonoma!) where Jim got a Java chip frap and I tried their guava Passionfruit drink.  Though it was tasty there isn't much in the way of guava or passionfruit

We never made it to the grocery store!

My goal again this year is to make 500 cards.

It's warming up around here

Today I thought I'd give the new blogger a try.  So far I'm not convinced to use it.  Twice I've tried to change the font, size and boldness and this is what I get!  Also no spell check...

Moving on.

We have been getting out a wee bit more.  Had a lovely lunch at Herberts in New Braunfels on Saturday.  We made the trip to go to the Wild Bird store to pick up seed for the birds.  We're seeing young ones now.

June 2nd I was seen for a consultation (I thought I was having surgery) regarding my gallbladder.  I'm a candidate for removal!  Some tests are needed and a date for said surgery is required and they will call me.  Still not scheduling non elective procedures yet.  Sigh....

I'm doing ok.  No stones since Easter, thank goodness.  But my meals are tiny, I watch what I eat and just deal with nausea and being uncomfortable some days.  My weight has dropped to around 108 pounds. Some of my clothes are to big. Smaller portions people if you want to lose that belly fat!!!  I'm scheduled to see my doctor this month, so far it's an in office visit.  I hope so because I need to find out what's hppening with my right arm.  Still weird.  I think it's a pinched nerve and some days are better than others.  Sleeping isn't fun as I can't find a comfortable position.

It would seem I'm falling apart.  Take my advice and don't grow old!

Yesterday we reached 101 and today there is a heat advisory.  It's not even officially summer!

My goal again this year is to make 500 cards.

The Challenge was to use an older set of stamps to make cards.  So I did!  Stampin' Up! products used to make these bright, cheerful cards

The challenge with these cards was to make cards for the men in our lives.  Fathers Day is coming up.  I think these would work.  Again all Stampin' Up! products

So it would appear if I want to change the font, size and boldness of my text I have to go back and do it everytime I complete a section.  tedious

Our daily life is filled with normal stuff.  Chores, cooking, eating, reading and gaming.  For me I also enjoy card making.  Most days I'm working on them with my morning coffee.  If Jim naps I'll take the time and make cards. We do manage to stay indoors during the heat of the day...most of the time.  Jim still relishes going out during the hottest time of day!  Crazy man.

I hope your area is opening up and you're able to get out and enjoy.  I'm afraid masks are still required and we do use ours when necessary.  With all the restrictions in place I'm sure more and more people are going to get frustrated and we may see more protesting.  Losing our freedoms isn't going down so well with some folks.
