Sunshine...All Weekend!

Friday Sonsearae drove out and we hopped in the truck and drove to Panacea to have lunch at Trident.  We've been wanting to check it out as it is run by the same people that own Backwoods Crossing in Tallahassee.  It's a farm to table restaurant, as is Trident.  More seafood based on the Trident menu.  We all enjoyed our meals and even though it's a seafood restaurant, overlooking the water, Jim and I think they're a bit pricy.  It's always good to spend time with family, don't you think?

Saturday morning started out overcast and misty, but soon the sun prevailed and it started clearing.  Once the sun was out in full force the day heated up.

Jim was out in the morning doing chores and had to come in around noon.  Meanwhile I was inside doing chores.  The list never ends!

Sunday we had a late start to our day and Jim decided it was to late/hot to work outside.  I agreed!  So we spent the day reading, gaming, eating and watching shows on Acorn.  Jim took a nap and I made a card or two.

Guess What?

We've had more rain but not as much as the other day.  It's safe to say we're tired of it.

Did all you dads have a fine Sunday?  Sonsearae fixed a Mexican themed meal for us and Jim enjoyed it immensely.  Tamales were the centerpiece and even the ones we brought home are gone.  Beef, Pork, Chicken, Beans and Cheese with jalapeno.  There was Pico de Gallo, Mexican street corn salad.  She also cooked ground beef for tacos, shredded cheese and guacamole.  Special dessert of cupcakes.

We had some rain on Monday, enough that we didn't venture out as planned.  We need some items from Walmart.  We both hate going there but some of our wants are cheaper there.  A day of reading mostly.  We've decided to get Acorn  streaming service.  We both enjoy the British shows and now we can watch at our leisure.

Finally made it to Walmart...lines at all three registers and the self checkout.  Why don't they hire more people!!??  While I waited in line Jim walked around getting his exercise/steps in the lovely air conditioning.

We brought a pizza home for dinner and tonight ate the rest of our Pico along with some guacamole I made with the avocado Sonsearae sent home with us.  No rain yet!

I make Christmas cards on the 25th (shows you how far behind I am in posting).  All Stampin' Up! but retired DSP...I do have a lot of pretty paper to use up

This is Countryside Inn DSP.  Most of the paper is a darker blue but I like this lighter blue also

Using retired DSP I made these two cards with matching envelopes (this helps use up the paper)

Rain, Rain and then

More Rain! Wednesday night around 2130 we were treated to some turbulent winds.  The rig was rockin' and rollin' and then the rain started.  It had eased off around 2200 when we went to bed and I honestly didn't hear any rain during the night.  But Thursday?  It rained and rained and rained.  Bands of heavy rain kept us inside.  Thunder and lightening too.  Standing water everywhere.  Jim did have a window of opportunity to take the trash down.

When we went to bed around 2200 it was storming again.  Thunder, lightening and heavy rain.  It passed and again I didn't hear any more rain during the night.

The system seems to have moved south and we have a weak sun trying to burst through the hazy sky

Disney Fantasy Cruise May 11 and 12

I have to admit that writing this blog is a task I put off!  There isn't much to write about.  We live a quiet, simple life and nothing rarely happens

Our last two days of the cruise was fun.  We went to an onboard chocolate and wine tasting.  Did you know that an opened bottle of wine should be consumed in three days or less?  I guess I need to drink my wine more quickly as I do tend to hoard it.

We spent the last day at Castaway Cay in the Bahamas.  This is Disney's private island.  There is a family beach and an adult beach.  The bring all that's necessary to serve a BBQ lunch, which was quite tasty.  We also got to feed the sting rays!  This was very cool and didn't last as long as I'd like.  We also got to swim and snorkel with them.  I could not get the hang of this as I couldn't see much with the mask on.  So I contented myself with watching them glide through the water.  Speaking of the water it was quite chilly!  Once in you got used to it

Here she is, wading out enjoying the clear water at the adult beach.  Sonsearae likes the water!  She always has.

All to soon it was time to head back to the ship and as the sun set we headed home

On Wednesdays Sonsearae usually works half day at the Woodville post office and we meet for lunch.  Yesterday, after picking her up,  we headed to Mission BBQ.  This restaurant is very tasty and Patriotic.  They like to offer the military, first responders and law enforcement free food and of course recognition.  Yesterday I received a US Flag pin.
After lunch we headed to Bed, Bath and Beyond to see if we could find some bargains.  The store is closing and it was quite empty.  Picked up a couple face cloths, ice trays etc.
Then it was off to Costco for some necessities which cost a whole lot more!
All to soon we had to take Sonsearae home and we divvied up our purchases.  Spent some time with Chris and Louie, then headed home.  By the way Louie is our newest family member, a French Bulldog.  He's so cute!!!  Just  a puppy and Chris is training him.
