Happy New Year!
A lot can be said about the year 2020. Hindsight is twenty twenty! Is there anything you'd have done differently?
Obviously the pandemic of Covid 19 occupied everyone on the planet. Shortages, lockdowns, social distancing. How did it effect your life? I hope each and every one of you stayed healthy. For that you should be grateful. All else is just something to be handled. Life is good
I know some families are missing loved ones because of social distancing. The mothers and fathers who are in nursing facilities can’t have visitors. It’s heartbreaking on every level. Medical procedures were done and families couldn’t comfort their loved ones with visits. Those who lost loved ones, for any reason, had trouble with funerals.
Our 'new normal' has new parameters. We continue to wear our masks when we get groceries and eat out. But we don’t go out as often as we used to. We are in the risk group. I sure don’t want to get it or pass it on to someone else. I’ve read that like other pandemics this one will get under control and will be written up and become history. Like the plague, Ebola, Avian flu, AIDS etc. What makes Covid so frightening is the rapidity and reporting.
I think mistakes were made by our leaders and the media. It caused so much panic. So many people became greedy from fear of the unknown. Sad when you think about it.
What does this new year bring us? Only time will tell. For myself I’ll take each day and enjoy it. Life is good!
For the past two years I’ve challenged myself to make 500 cards. Both times I’ve failed. So this year I’ll just make cards and share them here.
Handmade cards because:
No one displays an email on the mantle or
Shows off a tweet on the fridge or
Saves a Facebook post in a box of treasures
Using a template from Crafty Al, I made 9 cards. A combination of three pretty papers and card stock
How did you spend your New Year’s Eve? We stayed in and hoped for the best. Living in a rural area I was expecting more noise. But it wasn’t bad. On the first day of this fantastic year we shared a meal with our hosts, Christy and Rik. A low country boil! Unfortunately it was a rainy day but we sat on the porch and enjoyed the meal and good company
