We're enjoying our life. Are you? Life is what you make it and we've found a peaceful routine here. For the most part we hang around the house and it pleases me.
A cold front came through and our mid 80's went away...it's ok, because our AC is being worked on.
Jim and I rarely get up at the same time. Matter of fact it probably happens only a handful of times a year. Today was no different. I think I was eating breakfast when he finally came down for his coffee. Not sure how it came up but I mentioned brunch. We've hit a couple restaurants that offer Sunday Brunch and I remembered today is Sunday! If you're retired sometimes remembering what day of the week it is can be fun. Jim likes the typical breakfast of eggs etc while I do not, so going out for breakfast appealed to him and he found a place in Boerne, Brantley's Bistro. Good choice! I had coffee and sweet potato pancakes, Jim had the house bloody Mary and avocado toast. His drink came with celery, bacon, pickled okra and pepperonci. The toast was loaded with mashed avocado along with crab and cherry tomatoes on one slice and bacon with one egg on the other slice. He ate every bite so I know it was good. We also tried their french fries with homemade ketchup. Quite yummy!
We headed to a Barnes and Nobles to see what was new, read some magazines and for me, browse the cookbooks. The drive home on Blanco Road, then Spring Branch Road we saw oodles and oodles of bluebonnets!
This is a single stalk, when massed together over several feet they're quite lovely. It's the state flower of Texas and is part of the lupine family

The hummers are here! I think one of them is a black chinned. Not sure if they're local or just passing through. Ruby Throats are local. So far just one at a time so no aerial fights
Handmade cards because:
No one displays an email on the mantle
or shows off a tweet on the fridge
or saves a Facebook post in a box of treasure
