There Ospreys nesting here and that was a treat to see. I also saw a blue heron, a big turtle and a quail. I found the sign about the alligators amusing, "Do not feed or aggravate the alligators". We didn't see any gators.
This morning Jim helped Scotty with his boat for a little while. Anne and I wanted to go to the shops and pick up groceries. Jim needed fuel so the three of us went 'out'. We went to a couple of beach shops, drove around looking at the houses and hotels. Stopped for lunch at The Shrimp Basket. Jim had oysters, etouffee and crab legs, I had fried fish and Anne opted for a fish sandwich. it was all very tasty. Then it was off to the grocery store and gas station. Jim dropped us off and he went for fuel, $2.19 for diesel. He also washed the truck.
Anne and I meandered around the store and managed to buy quite a bit. She has to have stuff for Easter and grandchildren. I wanted hot dogs because you need to have hot dogs when you're at the beach.
One last shot of the Beach here in Gulf Shores, Alabama
We came home and put our purchases away and Anne and I went back to the beach. Jim and Scotty stayed behind to work on the boat and nap. We had fun strolling the shoreline looking at the waves and searching for those perfect shells and shark teeth. Even though we thought it was chilly there were people in the water. Children mostly and they don't really care about the temperature of the water or the wind.
We finally decided it was time to head home and once here we headed indoors for a bit. Since this our last day together we thought we'd have pina colada's one more time. Tomorrow we'll continue eastward and the Scott's will stop in Port St Joe and we'll go a bit further to Panacea. We will miss traveling with this couple.
We did have hot dogs and beans for our dinner! The dishes are done and we're showered and enjoying the low 70's temperature. Perhaps because it's Friday and a holiday weekend the construction noise has stopped. Maybe we'll leave the windows open tonight.
