You’re not Listening!

Wednesday we were out and about enjoying the sunshine in the cool temperatures. We both had sweatshirts on and the day was perfect.  After having a bite to eat at the Breakfast Station in Crawfordville we were ready for our next stop.  We visited with Christy and Rik, dropping off presents.  Both are feeling better and Christy is into the holiday season with trees and decorations everywhere!

Temperature climbing into the 60’s we were happy campers. Next stop at Publix for last minute items to get us through Christmas Day. Lovely drive home, winding our way through the countryside. Sun peeking in and out of the trees like twinkling lights.

Once home and everything put away I enjoyed a cup of coffee. Meanwhile Jim was out back taking care of the black tank (the weather helped with that, being so nice). Once he came in he made his coffee.

As the afternoon wore on, the temperature was dropping. The sun went down and with clear skies it got even colder, quickly.  By the time we went to bed around 2200 it was in the low 40’s.  Predicted low was 38 degrees.

This morning when I got up at 0600 it was 34 degrees outside.  Listen up! We don’t like these northern temperatures so please stop sending them! Are you listening? The temperature continued to drop and stopped at 32.  There was frost! I’m so glad I put my poinsettias in the compartment. Being a tropical plant they would not like these temperatures! So stop sending them.  I’m sure my friends Anne and Marilyn are just trying to share ‘their’ cold weather with us for Christmas. Not quite the present we want.

Are you ready?

Ya’ll have to stop!

Seriously! You people up north can keep your cold weather.   We’ve had enough of it. Cold and rain….wearing long pants and socks! And it’s not winter.   Or!   If you’re sending us cold weather the least you can do is make it cold enough for snow.  Dreary, rainy days that are cold is demoralizing. Just makes us sad and eat.

It has to stop!

We have been out and about. Some shopping and visiting Sonsearae and Chris. We had our Christmas with them Sunday because they’re heading out of the country! Friends are renewing their vows and invited them. And since it’s warmer in Puerto Rico they said yes.  Should be a fun trip

Sweet as a Peach from Stampin’ Up!  Needed a break from Christmas cards.

A couple of weeks ago it was nice enough to have lunch on the river.  Fall was in the air.  Sure was nice.

Did you see the Saints shutout the Bucs?  I was wonderful!

Are You Ready?

I don’t generally decorate for Christmas but Sonsearae thought I needed to.  She gave us the little tree with decorations and the two trees by the gnome. She also gave me the gnome for my birthday. I love gnomes and this one is special as it was hand made by a friend, Marge.  The cards are the ones I’ve received from crafty friends.

Do you go all out for the holidays. Or are you content with minimalism?

Since Boo passed I’ve not done very many cards. Slowly coming out of my funk.

We have been going out and visiting with our girls and I’ll share in another post. Just wanted to let y’all know we’re still here

Difficult Post

Some of you already know. Our little Boo has crossed the Rainbow Bridge.  We knew he was ailing, eyesight was going, you could see the cataracts.  He slept most of the time. Some days he didn’t want to eat. Even though he was paper trained from the breeder, he kept us busy cleaning up after him. His urine the two days prior to putting him down, was very dark yellow. The clincher was I think he had a seizure. Jim saw it and then Boo started foaming/drooling.  He was walking around in circles and bumping into things.  Life wasn’t fun anymore…for any of us.

He spent his whole life on the road with us.  15 years, so he's had a well traveled life. And he was loved.

He is missed

Cooler Weather, so very nice

Monday...A cold front has dipped down and given us much cooler temperatures.  It feels like Autumn!  Jim would probably say it feels like winter.  It's almost 10 am and it's 60 degrees outside.  The sun is brightly shining and it is warming up out there.

We have been out and about the past few days.  A trip to Costco, lunch at Peppers for some much needed Tex-Mex food.   A stop  at Country Feed Store to see Christy and Rik.  The nice weather has given them a few days of good sales.  We visited for awhile and with our cooler, eggs and mail  it was off to Publix.  Why is it my coffee cream is only sold there?  Quick dash in and then we headed home.

Jim is adjusting to the c-pap machine and only time will tell if he'll ever get a good nights sleep.  Sometimes neither of us sleep well!  He likes the nasal pillows a lot better than the mask.  He has had to make a couple adjustments to the position and flow of air.

Sunday we spent some time with Sonsearae and Chris.  Football Sundays are a treat!  Burgers were had and I brought deviled potatoes.  Spinach Artichoke dip along with bell peppers, crackers and tortilla chips rounded out the menu.  For dessert Sonsearae made an Apple Cider Doughnut cake.  It sure was yummy!

What are you paying for gas or fuel?  Filled the tank today with diesel and it was $3.49 a gallon....

Happy Fall Ya'll!

I love this time of year!  Temperatures are dropping and being outside is a lot more pleasant.  Time to head to the beach!  I know, ya'll think going to the beach is only for summer time, to cool off.  But we don't often spend time in the water.  Maybe walk the surf.  The fresh sea air is what I'm after.  Picnic on the sand or a good seafood restaurant with open windows because there is always a breeze.  Perfection!

What is your favorite time of year?  I'm an Autumn type because I love all the rich, fall colors.  I love wearing sweaters and boots and it isn't often I get the chance living in the south.

We've been here about three weeks and life is good.  We do have to drive a bit to see  our family.  Even getting groceries it's a 20-30 minute drive.  And wouldn't you know diesel has gone up in price!

There is a multi purpose path along the Coastal Highway and we see folks on it when ever we go out.  Jim walked one day on it and the other day we both did a thirty minute walk.  Not brightly colored but there were some flowers in bloom and the Beauty Berries are beautiful.

Beauty Berries are purple and brighten the landscape

We had several days of rain and it got messy on the patio!  The space between the sites is about four inches deep and water just poured down the road, entered and crossed our site.   Pardon the rainy windows, but I wasn't about to go outside to take pictures!

This first picture show the water level with the pad
There is a road under all that water!

We were happy when those rains moved on.  It lasted about three days.  Came from the southwest and moved up into Georgia.

Jim finally was able to get his A-pap machine.  There's been a shortage of them.  He's been using it nightly and he likes the nasal pillows better than the mask.  Not sure how long it takes to get a solid night of rest but he's working on it.

These cards were made in September.  Just getting WIP's done.  What's a wip you ask?  Work in Progress!  Not sure when they were started but they're done now..

These cards were made for special people in our lives and I chose the papers for them.  I like tropical prints too!  I hope they liked them.

This card has a matching envelope.
                                   All Stampin' Up! papers

One Sheet Wonder Template from Jessica Taylor.   Also has matching envelopes.  This Granny Apple Green and Daffodil combination is very bright and cheerful!  All Stampin' Up!

Well folks that's about it from here.  I hope life is treating you well because Life is Good!

Home

No matter your age or circumstances, there's no place like home!  We've lived in some wonderful locations across the United States in our rolling home.  Each site was unique and special.  We both have favorite spots!  I like mountains while Jim is more of a water guy.  Ocean, lake, river...  But no matter where we park, it's home.

We've been here since the 15th.  Several busy days after our move we were both busy setting up.  Outside Jim has done a fine job.  Patio mat is down, bird feeder is up (no birds!), solar lights and chairs (thanks Sonsearae and Chris for the lounger).  The weather station is keeping us updated.   Haven't hung the chimes or hummer feeder.  And Jim isn't sure about hanging our sign of crossed pistols saying we don't dial 911.  Maybe we'll just go with our names and the yellow rose of Texas. I only have a couple potted plants.  The weather will be cooling down and since we'll be moving sites I don't want the fuss and bother of heavy pots to move.

I think it rained everyday the first week were here!  Then a 'cool' front came through and the temperatures relented for a day or so.  I even sat out one afternoon!  We have full sun on the street side of our rig, so opening the windows was a treat.  Overnight the humidity rises but usually tapers off during the day.

More than once we've both said we like our views.  Our site offers us the golf cart path to the first tee of the golf course. So it's busy during the mornings...actually it's kinda busy all day!  And we have some greens we can see out the back window and watch the golfers.  When we move in February that will be missed.

Our view of the pond is approximately ESE.  Very nice but if someone moves in next door we'll lose this view.

It's a longer drive for us to visit medical facilities, but I don't mind.  Jim may tire of spending so much time driving.  As far as groceries etc, that's pretty close.  And dining out could involve seafood so he's up for that!

It's Quite Nice Here

We made it!  I sure am glad it was a short trip.  It definitely wore us out.  A week prior to the move Jim was quite busy getting the rig ready for the move.  Washing it, taking down the weather station, airing tires, pulling up the mat etc etc etc.  Inside was my job and while none of this is difficult and we remembered what we had to do, it was tiresome!

I'd like to say we slept well but no....I for one kept thinking of things I needed to do as I'm sure Jim did.  And he doesn't sleep well most of the time.  Speaking of that, his Cpap appointment was cancelled due to lack of machines.  They'll call.

Boo managed to rest on the 40 minute drive.  He usually spends the time in Jim's lap and he's anxious.  But not this time

We are in site 8 for now.  It's reserved for February.  We do have a place to move to should we decide to stay (yes please!)
No one in this site so we can see the pond. I did see a fish jump and there is a duck decoy
The view out our back window is a tree lined golf course.  Golfers are really odd.  Rained Wednesday, Thursday and Friday but they didn't care, some played through others carted themselves back to the office to wait out the heavier rains

Our first day here I spotted this little guy but the picture I shot through the rainy view from the window wasn't the best.  Managed to get this one today.  Not pure white as there are dark patches centered down his head and back.  No matter, he's pretty!

No cards...been busy and tired....

We're Moving!

We were presented an opportunity to move to a campground!  Yes please!

Chris scouted around, probably at the urging of Sonsearae and found a spot for us at Wildwood and we're all set to travel on Wednesday.  I think we've remembered all we need to do for this short trip.  Jim has washed the rig, put the hitch back in the truck bed, taken down the weather station.  Pulled up the patio mat.  I've trimmed my plants and I'm taking cuttings from the basil and tomato to root so I can plant them after we get there.
We both hope it doesn't rain!

I went to a craft fair with Sonsearae last Saturday while Jim stayed home and did some chores for me...gotta love a man who does laundry and dishes!

Total for the Year, 381 cards made

I love this layout and the tropical theme.  Old Stampin' Up! paper

The following three pictures are all the same card.  Made with double sided paper

The front has this cute little Penguin, then you open it

And it says make a wish

Then finally this party penguin says Happy Birthday
All Stampin' Up!

I really like the card layout on the left.  Using different papers, a pumpkin sticker it looks totally different!  I've made both flat for mailing but it would look even different it some of the elements were popped up with dimensionals

Wow! it’s September

Where does the time go? For the most part we just hang out at home, I guess I’m getting forgetful.

We’re doing good and hope you are too.  Our summer hasn’t been nearly as hot as I thought it would be.  Overnight the humidity rises but unless it rains it can drop under 50% during the day. Pretty tolerable if you ask me.  I was concerned about Jim having difficulty breathing.  Back in Texas,  humidity wasn't much of an issue.

Exciting news! We’re moving to a campground the middle of this month.  Chris scoped it out for us and we checked it out.  It will do just fine.  Wildwood Golf and RV Resort is further south from here, but closer to the coast.  Maybe we'll get more scenic drives and some beach time.  The site we'll be in backs up to the Golf Course.  Hopefully I'll be able to attract some birds!

Total for the year, 378 cards made

I've made a few cards and still have more to post.  Hopefully it won't take me a month!

Today we headed to Costco to pick up a couple items and get some walking in.  I stripped the bed and we have clean sheets to sleep on tonight.  If it weren't so much work we'd sleep on clean sheets every night!  Love slipping into bed.

Boo is doing good, he needs a haircut...looking a bit scraggly.

Anniversary and cards

This past week we’ve been busy!  Last Sunday we enjoyed the company of Sonsearae and Chris. They treated us to lunch at Walk On’s  a Cajun restaurant, sports bar. Then it was off to the movies to see Jungle Cruise with Dwayne Johnson. Oh! They also picked us up.

On Monday Jim had a follow up appointment regarding his sleep study. There’s another C-pap in his future. They discovered he has restless leg syndrome and ordered a test for iron.
We then headed to Carrabbas for our anniversary meal. We started with a pitcher of sangria and an appetizer of mussels.  I  posted pictures on Facebook of the food we had.  Jim had shrimp and scallop fettucine with a Caesar salad, while I had Chicken Marsala and minestrone soup.  Of course there was bread also. The meals were delicious and huge!  We had plenty of leftovers to feed us all week.  Oh!  they gifted us with a tiramisu  which we shared after the nap we took when we got home.

Sometimes when I look in the mirror I wonder where has the time gone?  Other times I feel my age, truthfully, those days are more often than I care to mention!

We see the passage of time when we see our children....Like seriously how can I be the mother of a 50 year old?  But I remember giving birth like it was yesterday.

Time....Jim and I have been married for 47 years.  Most of those years were pretty amazing!  We've had tough times and sad occasions but our love for one another has remained.

I love you Jim!  Now and forever

Tuesday we went out for groceries at Walmart and Publix because we didn't feel like it after our lunch on Monday

Wednesday I had a hair cut scheduled.  Sonsearae also needed a lift as her car was in the shop.  Jim dropped me off at the salon then headed  south to pick up Sonsearae. Then turned around to pick me up! What a charming Uber driver. The car was ready but we headed to lunch at Gordos a Cuban restaurant for sandwiches and a chat.  After lunch we dropped Sonsearae off at the Honda dealer where we parted and we headed home.

Thursday we didn’t go anywhere….gasp!

Friday we went to the mall to walk, I think.  Could have been Thursday. The mind is a terrible thing to waste….

Saturday we headed to Costco to walk around in the cool and to get some cereal, it’s the only place we know that sells it. Picked up ten pounds of potatoes and a container of spinach….forgot the cereal. Stopped at Whole Foods for some vegan hotdogs. Then home.

Total for the year, 355 cards made

For a challenge we had to stamp our own paper and make cards.  Are you ready for Autumn?

Just got a new stamp from Stampin' Up!  Delicate Dahlias, I think this turned out pretty.  What do you think?

Sunburst Christmas cards.  Also decorated the envelopes with paper. I've done this before and I always hope it goes through the postal machines ok

Tropical theme here...I am in Florida

I hope your week was a good one!
