New refrigerator

Our refrigerator was delivered late Monday.  It rained off and on that day and we thought it would have to be delivered to the office to keep it out of the elements.  But checking the weather forecast Jim declared it could live on the patio overnight, under the awning.  As far as I recall no rain overnight!  More importantly there was no wind.  If you've ever spent any time in Texas you know there can be wind on a moments notice.  

So Tuesday was busy with the installation.  Most of the food was out of old fridge so that task was easy.  Unplug and move contents to cooler.  Disconnect water line. Then I pulled all the innards out while Jim prepped the new one.  In order to remove and install, all the doors came off to make it lighter in weight for our feeble bodies to handle it.  Fortunately our neighbor assisted with moving the old one out.

Jim made several trips to the office to set aside the old shelves and drawers and to take stuff to the dumpster.  Paige said she and Michael would help carry in the new one!  They run the RV Park and are the most friendly folks you'd ever meet.  With the new one in place Jim got the doors installed while I washed down the shelves and drawers.  Soon it was all assembled and running!  Over the next few hours we got everything out of the cooler and into the shiny new refrigerator. We waited until Wednesday to retrieve items that were in the office fridge and freezer.

It's a perfect fit and runs like it should...Jim didn't suffer to much while working on this project.  He huffed and puffed a lot.  Missing part of his lung gets him breathless with the least little task.  But he took breaks and I tried to keep him supplied with water.  It was a good days work and he it was done around 1500.

Once he cleaned up he was ready to go out but I declined.  He needed to relax.  Other than a few aches and pains from long, unused muscles he came through this ordeal pretty good.

The other day we watched Daytripper on PBS which happened to be about Blanco which is just up the road from us.  The program points out various things to do and see.  So we did.  On Wednesday we headed there to have lunch at the Redbud Cafe and visit the Hill Country Lavender Farm  both were featured on the show.  I didn't know lavender was grown in the area!  So this would be fun.  

Lunch was very tasty and as we usually do, we had a beer with our meal.  Local brewery so we have to support local businesses, right?  Alas, after our meal we discovered the Lavender Farm wasn't open.  But we'll visit another time. 

On the way home we stopped at HEB for some groceries and drove home in the rain.  So a visit to the farm would have been rained out!

Using the Rococo Rose ink and matching ribbon from Satmpin' Up!  I made these two cards.  Not sure if you can tell but the cards are spattered with ink.  Cool effect

These three cards are made from a Club Scrap Kit.  Much prettier in real life, colors appear to be washed out
