Not sure what's Worse

Friday...For the past few days we've enjoyed abundant sunshine.  A few clouds here and there and no rain.  But our daily highs of mid to upper 90's with a heat index up to 109 keeps me indoors.  Jim has been keeping up with his walking but as he said his speed is way down.

Had lunch with Sonsearae last Wednesday.  She and Jim shared a pizza while I had a Caesar salad.  A week ago we had the truck AC repaired and while driving on Wednesday it was flaking out again.  We made a run yesterday and it worked ok.

The rains returned Sunday morning and it rained off and on all day.  I'm sure at one point overnight I heard it raining and it is awful wet this morning.  Sun hasn't come out yet.

Spent some time with Chris and Sonsearae yesterday.  Mexican inspired meal with brisket tacos, Spanish rice, homemade salsa (thanks Robyn!), Pico de Gallo and some yummy pinto beans.  Chris celebrated a birthday on Saturday and we continued yesterday.  Cupcakes!  home made cupcakes

Daily dose of Rain

How was your weekend?  Do anything exciting?

We had a  pretty relaxing weekend, didn't do much except watch it rain.  Seemed like every few hours. Just had a wee shower!  Jim has been grumbling because he wanted to get some chores done outside.  Instead we read, played games and did some chores inside.  I did take the time to roast up a couple pork loin wrapped in bacon and seasoned with Cajun seasoning.

Inked Botanical DSP from Stampin' Up!...so soft and feminine.

I love this template from Robin Armbrecht!  I found her on YouTube.  For now I've just made two from retired DSP.  I shall make more because I think scraps could be used and every card maker has scraps

Using up some retired DSP...Love this Template from Mary Fish

Delia Borer posted  a lovely card in my FB group and I just had to CASE (copy and share everything) it.  There are two sets of score lines, across the top and down the left side.  New cardstock and ink, Moody Mauve.  The stem is Soft Succulent (retired).

Not 100% sure but I think this card was made for a challenge, something about using Foil.  Seashells Embossing folder, the stamps are retired

New Member of the Family

                                                              Meet LA Louie!

This little cutie is a French Bulldog and resides with Chris and Sonsearae.  Just a puppy and in training.  Chris has diligently gotten up every so often during the night to take Louie outside,  also during the day.  It's a good thing that Chris works from home most of the time.  Sonsearae also helps when she is at home.

We have been enjoying rain, days of rain.  Some days it rains, then the sun comes out and then it rains some more.  Temperature rises and falls.  Right now it's 1700 and the outside temperature is 68 degrees with light a drizzle.

The truck just had an AC overhaul.  Not sure of the extent of the repairs/replacements but we can travel in comfort once again

Independence Day

Did you have plans?  We don't indulge even if we do get invited.  I'm not into fireworks, they're noisy and bother household pets and I'm sure the wild animals could do without the noise.  The debris litters/pollutes the ground and water not to mention the air we breathe.  Why do we Americans need to have fireworks to celebrate?  I like parades and the festivities that some communities have.

We've been enduring some excessive heat for the past week.  Only going out when necessary.  Today we had a storm system roll through.  Clearing up just in time for all the fireworks later tonight. Maybe this rain we've just had will bring cooler temperatures in the days ahead.

Last evening was cooler so I hope the surrounding area was full of fun! We didn't hear much in the way of fireworks.  We spent our time watching Acorn TV.  Forgot all about PBS!  I'm sure there was a concert and fireworks.

More rain today and the sun is out again. Temperature is only 84 degrees at 1400.  Humidity is up because of the rain.  As I sit here I can see a Pair of Pileated Woodpeckers flitting about in the trees.  And the squirrels are chasing each other around.

I made another set of these Stampin' Up! Countryside Inn cards as I gave the others away as a prize.  I love the template so you'll probably see more like this

Earthen Elegance from Stampin' Up! The stamp set comes in English and Spanish.

I used the Flourish Card Kit from Club Scrap to make this set of cards.  I was a challenge using a template
