My baby is 50

I know how old I am. And I’m old enough to have given birth fifty years ago. But it’s still difficult to believe my baby is 50 years old!
Chris arranged for a special 50th party at a local club, District 850. A lot of friends and some family showed up and a great time was had by all. Sonsearae and Chris are now celebrating at Disney World.

We’ve been out and about shopping.  You know we need groceries and tools and supplies for projects.  Sometimes we have beautiful weather sometimes we have rain.
Have I mentioned that I feed the pigs? I save all my veggie scraps and leftovers to take them down and toss over the fence. They devour it quickly along with the chickens.

Some of the cards I’ve made recently
All Stampin’ Up! Papers

This card was sent to my friend Anne, her birthday is the 25th

The inside is pretty too

Some green cards, all Stampin’ Up! Products.

New papers from Stampin’ Up! Very easy to make

A challenge to stamp your own background paper. I used Posted For You stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

Our truck got some new eyes! Early birthday present for Jim from Chris and Sonsearae. A few days ago he and Chris installed them. Took a couple hours but they got er done! We had a chance to drive at Saturday night and wow! What a difference. Need to re aim them but we can see clearly at night.

For Better or Worse

We have a new president. The outgoing president lived up to my expectations. He is the quintessential ugly American and his actions today proved he’s a spoiled child also.

Enough of political talk.

How are ya?  We’re doing good and lately the weather has been good too! Our day to day routine is pretty much boring. We have our chores. We watch very little tv, some Netflix etc. Mostly we YouTube. Or read
And I make cards!

Using Echo Park papers this is another set of cards using Crafty Als template. Nine fun cards

We had a beautiful sunset the other night. Did I tell you we live in a gated community? Locked in every night! But we have a key. Out here in the country it’s pretty dark at night so we try not to be out after dark.

Sonsearae is turning 50 this month. My how the time flies! Disney World is turning 50 also. Since she’s a Disney fanatic I made her this card

Happy New Year!

A lot can be said about the year 2020. Hindsight is twenty twenty!  Is there anything you'd have done differently?

Obviously the pandemic of Covid 19 occupied everyone on the planet. Shortages, lockdowns, social distancing. How did it effect your life? I hope each and every one of you stayed healthy. For that you should be grateful.  All else is just something to be handled.  Life is good

I know  some families are missing loved ones because of social distancing. The mothers and fathers who are in nursing facilities can’t have visitors. It’s heartbreaking on every level. Medical procedures were done and families couldn’t comfort their loved ones with visits.  Those who lost loved ones, for any reason, had trouble with funerals.

Our 'new normal' has new parameters.  We continue to wear our masks when we get groceries  and eat out.  But we don’t go out as often as we used to. We are in the risk group. I sure don’t want to get it or pass it on to someone else. I’ve read that like other pandemics this one will get under control and will be written up and become history. Like the plague, Ebola, Avian flu, AIDS  etc. What makes Covid so frightening is the rapidity and reporting.

I think mistakes were made by our leaders and the media. It caused so much panic. So many people became greedy from fear of the unknown. Sad when you think about it.

What does this new year bring us? Only time will tell. For myself I’ll take each day and enjoy it. Life is good!

For the past two years I’ve challenged myself to make 500 cards. Both times I’ve failed. So this year I’ll just make cards and share them here.

Handmade cards because:

No one displays an email on the mantle or

Shows off a tweet on the fridge or

Saves a Facebook post in a box of treasures

Using a template from Crafty Al, I made 9 cards. A combination of three pretty papers and card stock

How did you spend your New Year’s Eve? We stayed in and hoped for the best. Living in a rural area I was expecting more noise. But it wasn’t bad.  On the first day of this fantastic year we shared a meal with our hosts, Christy and Rik. A low country boil! Unfortunately it was a rainy day but we sat on the porch and enjoyed the meal and good company

It has rained all year!  :^) The 1st and 2nd day of this brand new year gave us non stop rain.  When we went to bed last night it was still raining.  It looks like the system has passed and we should have some sunshine today.  It's almost 0800 on the 3rd and the clouds are still with us. I could use some clear skies and sunny weather.
